Description

Panax notoginseng is a perennial upright herb of the genus Panax. P. notoginseng is used as a medicine for its roots. It is warm and spicy, and has significant effects of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, reducing swelling and pain. P. notoginseng is mainly restricted to mountain areas with altitudes of 1200–2000 m around 23.5°N and 104°E in Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, in China.
